Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Service

Inpatient Services - dysphagia and communication

Part time 18.75 hours per week

Main duties of the job

Are you looking for part time hours to fit in with your lifestyle? If you are, pro-active, additional Trust investment has created a new role for an enthusiastic and organised Speech and Language Therapist to provide inpatient acute dysphagia and communication services.

You will work across Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI) and Bassetlaw Hospital sites, primarily based at DRI.

About us

The Adult SLT service provides:

Videofluoroscopy for inpatients, outpatients and referrals from Community SLT TrustsJoint ENT Voice Disorders Clinic twice per monthSpeech and Language Therapy led nasendoscopy clinicFEES serviceFunded Critical Care AHP service

You will have access to these clinics and may be required to support the setting up and operational running of the instrumental clinics at times. Training, support and supervision will be given as needed.

CPD activities, evidence based practice, audit, personal development, research, QI, role development opportunities, staff engagement, staff well-being, transparency and team inclusion in wider decisions and policy are actively pursued and encouraged. We are passionate about the work we do, we are supportive of each other and we have a positive staff survey.

You will be joining an established team of other Band 5-8a SLTs who are the current South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICB Quality Improvement Award Winners and the Trustwide Wellbeing Champion Winners.

We work closely with the SSNAP A-Rated Stroke/Neuro SLT team.

In the future, there may be opportunity to work with the stroke team and/or train in voice and head and neck services, if desired.

Doncaster is situated just off the M18 with a 2 hour non-stop train link to London. There are surrounding villages and it is only an hour from the Peak District.

  • Professional specific degree i.e. BSC speech sciences or Masters in medical sciences.
  • Member of the Healthcare Professions Council
