Job summary
To provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and all health care professionals on all aspects of skin integrity throughout the Trust. To ensure the maintenance and development of clinical excellence in skin integrity by informing and utilising the Trust's Skin Integrity team's policies, strategies, audit processes, education and research agenda.
Main duties of the job
- To deliver individualised patient care based on evidence best practice
- To contribute to the evaluation of the appropriate use of Skin Integrity products
- To actively manage a patient caseload using a full range of clinical decision making
- To demonstrate an awareness of the complex needs of different client groups when imparting or receiving sensitive, complex or contentious information.
- To work with the Lead Nurse in the development and the delivery of the Strategy.
- To contribute to the formulation, monitoring and implementation of protocols and standards
- To contribute to the educational needs of health care professionals, patients and carers and to implement and evaluate educational strategies
- To continue to the development and delivery of education.
- To contribute to the Skin Integrity Team's high quality service provision through participation in relevant clinical audit.
- To contribute to the response and dissemination of government guidelines and initiatives in the delivery of service.
- To maintain accountability for clinical decision making, judgement and actions.
