An exciting opportunity for a full time Pathology Information & IT Officer has arisen within the Pathology Department.
The job would involve working at Doncaster to support the Pathology Quality Manager, Pathology IT Team and the Senior Pathology Management Team in providing timely, relevant and accurate information. The information required would be for contracting, commissioning, quality management, performance management and audit purposes and also to support the SQLA process working with the various systems within Pathology Services to provide information to staff and service users. To support the Pathology Quality Manager to ensure that Pathology Services accreditation to ISO 15189:2012 is maintained.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the team of staff within the department, dedicated to delivering a high quality service to our users.
Main duties of the job
To work with a variety of pathology and Trust IT systems to access data, maintain and improve quality of data by validating and correcting reports and identifying ways to improve the processes. This demands an understanding of data collation and up to date knowledge of data definitions and uses.

- 1 years' experience in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to use spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to produce and understand statistical reports.
- Experienced user of a pathology or similar hospital departmental computer system.
- Knowledge of receipt processing, including stock control management, invoicing and ordering.
Desirable
- Experience of using a computer query language.
- PAS experience.
- Knowledge of current NHS issues.
- Knowledge of data definitions.
- Working knowledge of Pathology test names and Microbiology organism names.
- Experience of monitoring and reporting Infection control data
Qualifications

- Five GCSEs to include English and grade C or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
- A' level or equivalent in a numerate subject.
- Higher education in a relevant subject.
