We have a very exciting opportunity for a self starting Shift Maintenance Lead with a drive to see works through to completion.
This post is key to the effective implementation of our reactive maintenance services across the Trust.
You will be part of a close knit, multi skilled team on a rotating shift pattern, tackling the most technical challenges on site.
Working on both breakdowns and PPMs on the infrastructure across the Trust, you will be at the forefront of the estates team.
Main duties of the job
- Provide direct leadership to Shift Engineers, allocating work, prioritising tasks, and monitoring performance throughout the shift.
- Check, evaluate, and sign off work carried out by shift technicians, ensuring safe and compliant completion
- Act as the senior technical point of contact during the shift, managingincidents, escalations, and decision-making
- Undertake complex fault diagnosis on critical engineering systems using root cause analysis and investigative techniques
- Carry out PPMs, repairs, and minor installation works across electrical, mechanical and fabric systems
- Oversee and coordinate specialist or high-risk tasks, including isolations, shutdowns, and emergency works
- Oversee and carry out specialist work on power, lighting, nurse call, fire alarms, intruder alarms, and associated control systems.
- Supervise safe switching and activation of power changeover systems, generators, UPS, and panel isolations
- Ensure safe and effective maintenance of hot water, steam, chilled water, ventilation, AC systems, medical air and vacuum plant (with training).
- Lead the shift in using CAFM for receiving, updating, and completing all planned and reactive task
