SPROCKET is being led through UCL, and aims is to transform the delivery of services for children and young people with complex health needs and their families, who often face significant difficulties navigating services across health, education, and social care. We are focusing on two specific transitions: hospital-to-home and education transitions, with a focus on equity.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work under supervision of Dr Kate Oulton (GOSH) and Professor Monica Lakhanpaul (ICH) and will be responsible for embedding co-production throughout the project, including leading on delivery of community-based workshops using participatory and inclusive methods, in-depth interviews, and supporting an ambitious strategy for patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE). The post holder will identify and develop a dynamic work plan that underpins the completion of and significant contribution to the research project, including data analysis and dissemination. They will also line manage and support the SPROCKET Research Associate. This role presents an exciting opportunity for career development in large research project management and will also have a real impact on services for children with complex health needs.
About us
We are keen to make our workforce as diverse as the communities we serve, and we hope to attract applications from underrepresented groups, including people with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic heritage, people with a disability, and people from LGBTQ+ communities. By growing an ever more diverse workforce, we'll have a greater range of perspectives and knowledge, meaning that we can provide the children and young people at our hospital with even better care.
Our hospital is committed to creating an environment that is open and inclusive. Our staff are encouraged to engage with colleagues through the following networks: REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) ENABLED (Enhancing Abilities & Leveraging Disabilities Network), PRIDE and Women's networks; all of which are sponsored by a member of our Executive Management Team.
We want to ensure that all of our people, regardless of their background, are seen and heard. We want to attract applicants that share our commitment to inclusion and that understand diversity is a strength that is embraced and valued.
