At Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team.This post will be responsible for the operational assurance of core pharmacy services including supply and logistics for medicines.
We are looking for a highly skilled, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to help support our journey as we look forward to the future with the aim to develop our existing workforce and services, as well as welcoming new members to the team.
GOSH Pharmacy provides medicines for supporting NHS, International & Private Care and Clinical Trials for our children. We have been on a transformation journey to modernise the pharmacy service and facilities to deliver expert care to our paediatric population.
Main duties of the job
Working with the senior leadership team, you will be directly supporting and leading on projects in updating of pharmacy (including support on creation of an independent Outpatient Pharmacy) and Trust infrastructure on automation of medicines supply (including provisions of AutomatedDispensing Cabinets and Robotic Dispensing Systems).
You will have the opportunity to be involved in the New GOSH Children'sCancer Centre development, which will house the new Outpatient Pharmacy facility and help continue to drive improvement.
Leadership of our team of Pharmacists, Technicians and Assistants on the digital pathway for Pharmacy is key at future proofing our service in preparation for the coming new Children's Cancer Centre.
You will be responsible for ensuring that procurement, dispensing, and supply activities comply with all current statutory obligations, including Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
The Pharmacy Operational Manager role leads the service supporting:
- Regulatory Compliance (GPhC/CQC/ MHRA/NHSE QA)
- Operational Leadership
- Innovative practice
- Quality Improvement (e.g. EPIC Digital Closed loop systems)
- Senior Leadership and Management at an organisational level in respect to Pharmaceutical Operations
- Quality Management System Improvement
- Providing professional leadership and support to pharmacy technicians Trust-wide
