Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetic Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital as a Band 6 Dietitian covering a Secondment until October 1st 2026.
You will be working within a large department of over 70 staff who work across a wide range of clinical areas including Metabolic Medicine, Dermatology, Renal, Neurology, Ketogenic diets, Surgery/ITU, Oncology/BMT and Gastroenterology. The Dietitians and support staff are responsible for delivering high-quality nutritional care to paediatric patients from birth to 19 years of age.
Main duties of the job
You will be developing and building upon your experience to date to acquire specialised knowledge in a tertiary clinical area under the supportive supervision of Specialist Dietitians to join our team of rotational Band 6 Dietitians. Rotations are approximately 9 months long, with a planned change of clinical team/specialty in the summer of 2026.
You will ideally have post-registration experience working in paediatric dietetics at Band 5 / 6 level, with additional experience of a specialist area being beneficial. You will have exceptional communication, organisational, and prioritisation skills. You will also be confident in Excel, Word and general computer skills. You will possess a passion for paediatric dietetics and be looking to progress your professional career at the highest clinical level.
