This would be ideally suited to a trainee who is post CCT or a non-UK training fellow with a particular interest in developing expertise in these subspecialist areas. The post holder is expected to participate fully in the clinical work of the department as part of the Departmental rota. This will involve covering fixed clinical commitments; outpatient clinics, operating sessions, ward rounds, clinical meetings and a share of the Emergency and Haematology/Oncology theatre lists as well as being involved in the care of inpatients and contributing to the on-call emergency service operated by the department. This job has a specific focus on Oncology and Upper GI specialist areas of paediatric surgery, and the post holder will work with consultants covering these two subspecialties on an elective base.
