Assistant Psychology advert- Neurodevelopmental Psychology

As a result of successful applications onto Clinical Psychology training courses, we have an assistant psychology post available within the Neurodevelopmental Stream at GOSH. This is a clinical post working alongside Clinical Psychologists and Neuropsychologists as part of multidisciplinaryteams, providing specialist developmental / cognitive assessment for children and families.

Main duties of the job

You will have responsibilities within our outpatient clinics, which may cover one or more of a range of conditions including those with a specialist focus on social communication disorders, developmental vision impairment, epilepsy, Sturge Weber and rare inherited metabolic conditions. You may also support the clinical trials team. The roles involve pre-clinic preparation, direct psychometric assessment of children and young people, liaison with schools and families, managing clinic databases, and systematic data handling. This is primarily an assessment service but there may be the opportunity to support provision of therapeutic interventions or groups. For candidates with appropriate interest and skills, there is the opportunity to become involved in service development, research projects, presentations and preparation of written papers.
