These posts will play a key role in the Experimental Cancer Therapeutics program, which aims to improve the efficiency of introducing novel targeted agents into treatment of children with cancer. The drug development & translational research fellows will be part of a team of doctors, research nurses and data managers and will be based at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. These 12-month Clinical Research Fellow posts are particularly suited for a paediatric trained doctor (ST4 or equivalent) who has Paediatric Oncology experience (at least 1 year) and completed MRCPCH (or equivalent international paediatric training). The primary remit of the post holder will be responsibility for phase I/II trials for the testing of new drugs, particularly the new generation of biologically targeted drugs including biotherapeutics as part of our brain and solid tumour CAR-T cell programme. The fellows will support translational research projects such as advanced sample and biomarker development from the clinical coordination aspect.
Main duties of the job
These posts (up to 3 fellows) will play a major role in supporting translational research and Drug Development in Paediatric at Great Ormond Street Hospital. These positions will contribute to delivering our Experimental Cancer Therapeutics programme, which aims to improve the efficiency of introducing novel targeted agents (including biological therapies) into children with cancer. GOSH/UCL have established a team of doctors, research nurses and data managers to conduct translational and clinical research. These posts will provide a comprehensive training in paediatric cancer drug development and are particularly suitable for a doctor who has completed at least 1 year of specialist training in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology.
