This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, supporting two world-leading institutions that view technology and digital capability as central to delivering excellent clinical outcomes and leading-edge research. In 2021, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and The Royal Marsden (RM) came together to form the Connect Partnership - a joint digital transformation programme built ona shared Epic electronic patient record (EPR) and supporting infrastructure.
Together, we are optimising how digital tools and data can be used to improve patient care, support cutting-edge research, and drive innovation in healthcare delivery. Our Epic instance is jointly managed by the Connect EPR Team, a single team spanning both organisations, working collaboratively to design, deliver, and evolve our shared digital platform.
Working closely with Configuration Managers, the wider EPR team, and operational stakeholders, you'll ensure that the development, delivery, and optimisation of these services are aligned with the Trusts' strategic goals and the evolving needs of clinical and operational users. You'll play a key role in supporting major upgrades, enabling new functionality, and driving forward improvements that deliver tangible benefits to patient care and research.
Our team works flexibly with a combination of remote and office based working days. You will be required to travel to all GOSH and RMH sites (Bloomsbury, Chelsea and Sutton).
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Deputy Head of Design and Deliveryto join the Connect EPR Team and provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of technical and integration areas.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the teams responsible for the following domains:
- User and Security Management- Managing user access, provisioning, and security roles within Epic to ensure safe, appropriate, and auditable access for all system users.
- Health Information Management (HIM)- Supporting the digital enablement of medical records processes including chart correction, document management and release of information.
- Bridges and Interfaces- Overseeing interface design and support, ensuring reliable data exchange between Epic and key Trust systems via HL7, FHIR, and other standards.
- Device Integration- Leading the integration and management of medical and clinical devices (e.g., barcode scanners, monitors, printers), ensuring smooth operation across care settings.
- Epic Environment Management - Coordinating environment strategy, version upgrades, build migration, and test planning across Epic environments in partnership with Epic and internal teams.
