Senior Paediatric Audiologist

Job summary

We're offering an opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Audiologist to join the Cochlear Implant Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave.

The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in complex and advanced Paediatric Audiology in a unique setting. You will be carrying out detailed audiological assessment of children under the cochlear implant pathway and post surgeryprogramming of cochlear implant systems.

Previous experience with cochlear implant systems is highly desirable but not essential.There will be many opportunities to learn with the unique patient population found here alongside excellent CPD opportunities (Internal & External).

You will be expected to competent at carrying out paediatric audiological assessment for arange of patients. You will be required to carry out programming of cochlear implant systems from Advanced Bionics, Cochlear and Med-El with full training provided.You will need a minimum of a BSc in Audiology or equivalent. You must also be HCPC/AHCS registered and have significant post qualification clinical paediatricexperience.

Main duties of the job

- You will be expected to competently carry out paediatric audiological assessment for children of all ages, to assist in the assessment of children's suitability for cochlear implantation, including appropriate counselling regarding expectations and outcomes.- You will be required to carry out programming of cochlear implant systems from Advanced Bionics, Cochlear and Med-El with full training provided.- You will need a minimum of a BSc in Audiology or equivalent. You must also be HCPC/AHCS registered and have significant post qualification clinical paediatric experience.- To be responsible for the monitoring and updating of audiological protocols within the Cochlear Implant Department in liaison with the Lead Audiologist- To initiate and develop plans for the improvements of CI Audiology services- To participate in the maintenance and updating of audiological databases- Undertake further training for professional development as required by registration protocols- Actively participate in departmental research as required by developing and planning research studies and publishing results in appropriate journals
