Applications are invited for the above post(s). The posts are fixed term for 12 months initially.Start Date: September 2025

These posts do not attract a National Training Number, but may be useful for out of programme experience for paediatric cardiology trainees, aspiring paediatric cardiologists or adult cardiology trainees with an interest in inherited cardiac conditions, as well as general paediatric trainees with an interest in cardiology. Main duties of the job

The Fellow will contribute to the investigation and management, including the use of novel and emerging therapies, of all patients referred with inherited cardiovascular diseases. The majority of the work involves assessment and detailed investigation of the children and their families, including echocardiographic studies (after suitable training, if required) and ECGs. There will be ample opportunity for clinical research which could lead to application for funding for a higher degree. The Fellow team comprises 3 clinical fellows, rotating 4-monthly through the cardiomyopathy, inherited arrhythmia and aortopathy firms, in addition to visiting fellows and clinical research fellows.

The Fellow will liaise with other departments such as metabolic medicine, neuromuscular, rheumatology and clinical genetics. They will work closely with the electrophysiology team given the need for cardiac device therapy in carefully selected patients and the transplant team as some children may eventually require this form of treatment.
