Job summary
We are looking for skilled, compassionate people to join our new team in this exciting role!
The Dietician will play an important part in leading and managing the dietetic service for the children and young people in the CYPGS.
The post is a 0.3 WTE part-time role, permanent or on secondment. Please tell us your preference in your supporting information.
The Cass Review recommended that gender service staff should maintain a broad clinical perspective by working across related NHS services, so that the care of children and young people with gender-related distress is within the broader context of child and adolescent health. We encourage part time applications from staff already working in other NHS services.
The service is delivered by a wide multi-disciplinary team. Children and young people receive an in-depth assessment of their needs, and a care plan is developed, offering them a range of care interventions. Our team also liaises with health professionals in local services nearer to the child or young person.
The Children and Young People's Service (London) is delivered by a partnership of Evelina London Children's Hospital (part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust), Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will have experience with dietary management of children and young people across a range of specialisms. They will be experienced in research, computing and teaching at a Masters level. They will have knowledge of all areas of paediatric nutrition and dietetics. They will have experience of working with neurodiverse young people.
The post holder will plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a dietetic function provided by CYPGS and support the planning and long-term development of the service. They will provide expert practise in the highly complex specialist field of gender dysphoria.
