Applications are invited for a 7.5 PA Substantive Consultant post in Paediatric Palliative Medicine (PPM) at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) foundation trust. The post holder will bean integralmember of the Louis Dundas Centre for Paediatric Palliative Care in the Blood Cells and Cancer Directorate.
The Louis Dundas Centre (LDC) at GOSH is one of the leading paediatric palliative care teams in Europe. The Centre aims to bring together academic research and clinical expertise to ensure that children, young people and families have access to specialist care of the highest standard. The Centre is linked with the UCL Institute of Child Health.
This role will promote and support the delivery of all aspects of palliative and end-of-life care to GOSH patients referred from multiple sources within London and the South East of England. The team's activity is undertaken both on site and in the patients' homes, local hospital or hospices.

Main duties of the job
Scope of the role
This 7.5PA appointment for a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine (PPM). The post holder will be a member of the Louis Dundas Centre for Paediatric Palliative Care, in the Blood Cells and Cancer Directorate.
The post holder will provide senior medical delivery of palliative care to infants, children and young people with life limiting and life-threatening conditions.

The Louis Dundas Centre (LDC) at Great Ormond Street Hospital is one of the leading paediatric palliative care teams in Europe. The Centre aims to bring together academic research and clinical expertise to ensure that children and families have access to specialised professionals delivering care of the highest standard. The LDC is hosted by Great Ormond Street and the UCL Institute of Child Health and led by the True Colours Chair in Palliative Care for Children and Young People.
The LDC receives approximately 250 new palliative care referrals each year, around 75% of whom have non-malignant disease. The LDC supports approximately 155 deaths each year, around 60% of which are of children with non-malignant disease.
