Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital's Leopard ward are recruiting a full time HousekeeperThe housekeepers are managed by Ward Sisters, supported by a team of staff nurses who provide care to children, maintaining close links with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including the medical team, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will be responsible for the co-ordination of services provided by the Estates & Facilities Division, working closely with contractors and support service departments, and will monitor quality standards related to these services, report deficiencies and take appropriate action.

The teams are enthusiastic, motivated, friendly and deliver family centred care. The Housekeeper post is designed to help maintain a high standard of family centred care by being an integral part of a ward team providing a safe and suitable environment for the recovery of the children cared for on the unit.

The role is fundamental to the efficient, high standard care provided on the unit and is a valuable part of the large nursing team. The role will involve limited direct patient care, whilst supporting those who provide direct care.
