Job summary

The CESS and RESCAS Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital is seeking to recruit a Service Coordinator to join the team for a permanent position. The post holder will be responsible for providing high level comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a team of clinicians and nurses, will need to enjoy a busy and varied workload and have the ability to prioritise their workload effectively.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and EPIC-competent individual to work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the CESS and RESCAS service and the Brain directorate.

This post will be offered as a permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to broaden their existing skillset and help shape the future of the department.

Main duties of the job

The Co-ordinator for the Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (CESS) and Refractory Epilepsy Specialist Clinical Advisory Service (RESCAS) will be responsible for the co-ordination from enrolment to discharge of patients on the CESS and RESCAS programme as part of a team of Epilepsy Service.

This would involve the co-ordination of admissions, outpatient appointments, investigations, and multidisciplinary meetings. Liaison with medical staff, other departments and other hospitals is essential. The post holder will be one of the main points of contact for referring professionals and families. Data input on the local CESS and RESCAS tracker system and updating the information is essential for data outcomes. The post holder will work very closely with the lead epilepsy surgery clinicians and nurses when co-ordinating and liaising with professionals and families

As a Service Coordinator you should have excellent written and verbal communication; strong administrative and organisational skills, diary management, and minute taking. You should be able to demonstrate that you are a team player but can work independently with minimal supervision. High proficiency in MS Excel is necessary in this role.
