Locum Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine with an Interest in Long Term Ventilation (10 PA)
Applications are invited for a locum respiratory consultant post with an interest in long term ventilation (10 PA) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust to start as soon as possible, for one-year fixed term.
The appointee will join the well-established respiratory team to provide clinical services for the Trust at a tertiary and quaternary level. It is expected that the candidates will have completed national grid specialist respiratory training or its equivalent, and therefore have expertise in paediatric respiratory medicine, including the relevant level of training and experience in cystic fibrosis, acute and chronic lung disease, difficult asthma, rare lung diseases, empyema, paediatric sleep, chronic respiratory failure and flexible bronchoscopy.

Main duties of the job
Clinical
The appointee will join the current team of respiratory doctors and allied health professionals in delivering the service. They will join the on-call rota on an equal commitment. During the week on call they will be responsible for the smooth running of the ward and provision of a consultation service on respiratory matters to the hospital.
The appointee will hold a weekly General Respiratory clinic. The appointee will also take an active role in the long-term ventilation service, working with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Dr Elaine Chan, Dr Andrew Turnbull, Dr Vasileios Patelis (Consultant Respiratory Paediatricians with interest in LTV/NIV), NIV/LTV CNSs, and discharge coordinator.
There are also special interest clinics, including Pompe clinics, SMA I clinics; and MDTs such as clefts, spinal MDTs, to further the postholder's interest and expertise in specific areas.
