Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the Feeding and Eating Disorders Service
An exciting opportunity has opened up within the Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
This is a 10 PA (programmed activities) post for a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the Feeding and Eating Disorders Team (FEDs). The post is based in Psychological and Mental Health Services (PAMHS) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
The successful applicant will lead FEDs, a multi-disciplinary outpatient service for children with a wide range of feeding and eating difficulties, that also provides clinical support to GOSH gastroenterological services. The team provides an out-patient service to children aged 0-16 who are refusing or avoiding food for a variety of reasons, including those presenting with feeding/eating aversions, extreme selectivity, tube dependency, and lack of interest in food as well as anorexia nervosa and other eating disorders.
The successful applicant will supervise the specialist registrar in FEDs and work alongside a highly experienced MDT. The postholder will also provide psychiatric liaison to the Gastroenterology services at GOSH.
This post includes a one in five consultant (second) on call rota which covers child and adult psychiatric problems arising within GOSH out of hours. The post attracts an on call supplement of Category B medium frequency.
