Job summary

To assist the Estates Management team and directorate SLT in the Trust wide management of energy consumption and cost, and to be fully responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organisations energy monitoring and targeting systems and to manage the Trust Energy Centres under direction of the Estates team. To drive this work in line with the Trust Climate and Health Emergency response towards estate decarbonisation by 2030.

Main duties of the job

  1. Support the Estates team in advising on the efficient operation of the Trusts' Building Management System in relation to the field of expertise. Maintain the Trust's temperature policy.
  2. To support the sustainability agenda and Net Zero emissions targets ensuring compliance with all statutory and mandatory performance and reporting requirements relating to energy
  3. Manage the relationship with Crown Commercial Services for the procurement of energy, ensuring accurate data is provided to enable accurate forecasting of costs. Advise the Trust in good time before the existing contract is due to expire and advise on procurement options.
  4. Responsible for the management and supervision of any assigned staff.
  5. Initiate risk assessment and as a result develop, implement and monitor safe systems of work.
  6. Act as a role model by demonstrating leadership and expertise, and by maintaining credibility within the Division, the wider health care community and external agencies, ensuring a positive image of the Trust is maintained
