Band 7 Physiotherapist in Paediatric Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal pain
0.4 WTE Maternity cover - days to be agreed.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children is a leading tertiary centre for children with all Rheumatological inflammatory conditions and for children with chronic pain conditions including Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. This physiotherapy service provides the expert physiotherapy input into the Rheumatology and Chronic pain team. The team prides itself in supporting each therapist to grow and develop to the best of their ability.
You will need well-established paediatric musculoskeletal skills for the Band 7 post. This post is part of an existing physiotherapy service, consisting of a Band 8, two Band 7, a rotational Band 6 and three physiotherapy assistants.
You will be working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team in providing this service and supporting the current staff with the service developments that are occurring. Treatments are provided individually in an outpatient setting, including physiotherapy-led clinics and as group rehabilitation sessions. Good communication skills and excellent team working abilities are essential for this post.

Main duties of the job
- To undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
- To undertake the comprehensive assessment of paediatric patients with Rheumatological, musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain conditions, including those with a complex presentation, using specialised investigative and analytical skills, and to formulate individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning, and utilising a wide range of specialised treatment skills and options to formulate a programme of care.

To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through reflective practice and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities by keeping up to date with any new trends and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work.
- To be an active member of the in-service training programme by the attendance and delivery of presentations and training sessions at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions internally and by attending external courses as appropriate

To represent the trust externally (locally and regionally and nationally) regarding physiotherapy services provided to patients within their clinical area.
