Job summary
We are seeking to appoint two full time (10PA x 2) consultants to join the existing team of 5 Consultant Paediatric Urologists and 1 Associate Specialist as part of the Urology Department, in the Sight & Sound Directorate at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.
This will be 2 x 10PA per week post. Both positions are permanent appointments with an on-call commitment of 1:7.
One of the successful post holders will be expected to work with the subspecialty lead, Mr Divyesh Desai and share responsibility for the care of children with spinal dysraphism. In addition, the successful post holder will share responsibility and provide medical input to patients who are seen in the Specialty Nurse led Urodynamics Unit.
The second successful post holder will be expected to work alongside the subspecialty lead, Mr Abraham Cherian and share responsibility for the care of children with cloacal anomalies. In addition, the successful post holder will share responsibility and provide medical input to patients who are seen in the Specialty Nurse led Urodynamics Unit.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will be managerially and professionally accountable to the Chief of Service for the Sight & Sound Directorate (Mr Christopher Jephson). Clinically, the appointee will work to deliver the highest possible standards of care for patients within the urology unit. The appointee will be expected to:
Participate in the provision of a comprehensive tertiary level paediatric urological service including urological surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children
To participate in clinical governance activities with the objective of ensuring a high standard of patient care
To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training of health care professionals
