Job summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Patient Accommodation Advisor within the Accommodation Services Department. The ideal candidate must have experience of working within a NHS environment providing a high level customer service to patients' and their carer's. Upon receipt of the booking request form, you will be responsible for the allocation of rooms within the Patient Hotel ensuring that you pay attention to detail to ensure the patients' requirements are met. Good communication skills are paramount as you will have day to day contact with clinical staff at all levels.
Reporting to the Family Accommodation Team Leader for day-to-day operational duties, the Patient Accommodation Advisor is an integral member of the Accommodation services department. The post holder will be required to work closely with clinical services across the trust to coordinate and plan the allocation of patient and family accommodation. The role is office based and has continual interaction with staff and families. It requires attention to detail to ensure the allocated accommodation meets user needs.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the day-to-day management and processing of all patient accommodation requests via the Trust's accommodation reservation system.
To ensure the appropriate and fair allocation of rooms in line with eligibility criteria.
To be responsible for creating and updating the daily checking in sheet to be sent to all appropriate departments daily.
To book external hotels for patients and their families in line with the agreed criteria when the patient accommodation is at full capacity.
To liaise with the Accommodation Services Facilities team to correct any quality issues in the Patient Hotel.
To ensure day to day input of accommodation data is recorded appropriately so that data is available to support strategic decision making.
To be responsible for the maximization of room capacity through effective communication with the Trust's multidisciplinary teams.
provide clear guidance and quick response to emails from clinics parents and guardians.
To follow up and collaborate with wards on the best decisions for families to ensure a high-quality service is met.
To inform the ward personnel where to deliver oxygen for patients if stated on the booking request form.
To organise and file all paperwork pertaining to Patient Hotel reservations.
To provide reception duties in patient accommodation at defined periods of the day.
