Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) for the position of Head of Property Services.

The Head of Property Services will be responsible for property management and supporting the management of hospital accommodation (including patient, family, staff and on-call accommodation offering).

The Trust occupy a variety of property assets. The post holder will provide specialist property advice and implement good, real estate management of the Trust's and Special Trustee's property in accordance with the requirements of both parties regarding leases, rents, service charges and business rates. In particular, the post holder is to provide professional estates advice on property, valuation, rating, leases, and disposals and provide reports all stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage occupational agreements, comprising leases, tenancies, and licences to meet he organisational objectives.
  • Manage the lease event programme and facilitate the review and sign-off of heads of terms, lease workflow documentation and advise on real estate matters.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of Landlord and Tenant matters for the Trust's leasehold estate.
  • Ensure that the Trust's estate portfolio is legally documented in accordance with NHS Policies and guidance.
  • Manage the Estates Terrier, IFRS-16 information and ensure the accurate recording of leased asset data is recorded on the Trust's contract register.
  • To be the Property Manager of properties used as family or staff accommodation, funded by GOSH Children's Charity.
  • To have overall responsibility for the management and delivery of the accommodation service including compliance, landlord liaison, lettings, tenancy management, and related areas.
  • Ensure all Property and Accommodation related policies and procedures are developed and successfully implemented, working with relevant teams to ensure universal approach in the allocation of accommodation.
  • Manage and work with the appropriate teams ensuring the provision of a professional and compassionate service for parents, patients and staff members and the cost-effective use of properties for the Trust and funded by GOSH Children's Charity.
