This is an exciting time to join the cardiac ward in GOSH. We are proud of our service with a well-established team providing world-class, patient focused care.
Bear ward is a 24 bedded cardiology ward, 8 of which are HDU beds. We care for children (neonatal -18 years), with a variety of complex cardiothoracic and cardiovascular conditions.
We have invested in clinical leadership and extensive education programmes to enhance skills development and knowledge, all supported by the practise education team.
You will also have an option to rotate throughout our directorate, including respiratory wards and 3 ITU areas.

Main duties of the job
? To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the children, young people and families.? Ability to promote family centred care and establish good relationships with children, young people and their families.? To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team.? To be able to take charge of the ward in the absence of senior nursing staff following achievement of required competence.? To be familiar with and adopt the principles of the NHS Chief Nursing Officers vision for Compassion In Practice (NHS Commissioning Board Dec 2012).
