An exciting opportunity is available to work with and support the Inpatient Unit Team at Cynthia Spencer Hospice in Northampton . We are looking for an experienced administrator who shows passion, dynamism and a desire to work in a fast paced environment
Main duties of the job
The post holder will primarily support the Ward Matron , but in doing so will be offering clinical and secretarial support to the inpatient team and the ward clerk. The post holder will be required to work autonomously, managing the office environment and supporting the wider team, deputising the ward clerk role if required during sickness or annual leave . Previous NHS experience would be an advantage.
The post holder must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They will communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation, and with patients and relatives on a regular basis. Some of this communication may at times be emotionally charged e.g. with distressed patients or relatives, and may rarely be the first contact for any complaints. A skilled and efficient use of Microsoft based systems is an essential requirement for this post as the individual is required to use Excel, Word and Outlook on a daily basis. The post holder will be required to take minutes for meetings. The post holder will be required to use E-Systems such as SystmOne , eRoster and ESR.
This post will be primarily based at Cynthia Spencer Hospice , but there may be a requirement to travel to other venues as service needs dictate or to support other parts of the team; this is expected to be in exceptional circumstances only.There is a requirement for the successful applicant to to cover for other administrators when service need dictates.
