Job summary

The opportunity has arisen to join a supportive and integrated Children's Occupational Therapy service in Northamptonshire. We are a Countywide Occupational Therapy service, who support children and young people from birth to school leaving age in their homes, at school, clinic and within community based settings. Patients are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves on ensuring the best possible patient experience. We work in partnership with families, other health professionals and education professionals to maintain a holistic approach to the management of the child.

We are looking for an experienced, autonomous, motivated, adaptable Children's Occupational Therapist to join the team. You will have experience of:

a range of relevant clinical experience and leadership skills.

Working with children and families

Working within schools

Supporting children within the community

A variety of standardised & non-standardised assessments

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage a defined area of work with supervision. They will undertake Occupational Therapy assessments using clinical knowledge and skills to carry out a comprehensive assessment of clients with a wide range of physical disabilities. The post holder will analyse and evaluate the information obtained during assessment to develop, implement and monitor Occupational Therapy goals/care plans consistent with good practice. They will continually monitor and evaluate treatment, in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of the intervention. The post holder will produce reports regarding client's needs, summarising proposed management/ care plans and recommendations.

They will work in partnership with others e.g. parents/carers, teachers, other medical and social care professionals to ensure the most positive outcome from intervention.

The post holder will participate with senior colleagues in the development, delivery and evaluation of training to a variety of audiences.

They will work and participate as member of the team multi-disciplinary, multi-agency team, discussions and decisions with regard to service users, actively engaging in the process of service user inclusion in planning and evaluating services.
