Job summary
We are recruiting two Specialty Doctors to cover psychiatry needs across HMP Nottingham, HMP Lincoln and North Sea Camp
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality, trauma informed psychiatric care within integrated mental health teams across HMP Nottingham, HMP Lincoln and North Sea Camp. The post holder, under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist, will deliver assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with severe mental illness, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex comorbidity in custodial settings, ensuring equivalence of care with community services.
You will join an outstanding-rated Trust delivering trauma-informed, equivalent mental healthcare within prisons, supported by strong medical leadership, protected SPA time and hybrid working.
A typical working week is likely to include clinics/patient reviews, team meeting, liaison with other professionals, including the GP, clinical administration, and supervision. The post holder will also maintain close contact with his supervising consultant and counterpart Specialty Doctor.

- oEligibility or approval under Section12 of the Mental Health Act
- oAbility to provide compassionate, trauma informed care in secure settings
Desirable
- oAdditional Postgraduate Qualifications
- oMRCPsych or equivalent
- oExperience in neurodiversity / ADHD
- oApproved Clinical Status or an interest in pursuing Approved Clinical Status
- oTeaching, leadership or service development experience
