Consultant Psychiatrist - Lincolnshire and Notts Prisons

Job summary

We are recruiting three Consultant Psychiatrists to cover psychiatry needs across HMP Lowdham Grange, HMP Ranby, Morton Hall and North Sea Camp.

HMP Lincoln will be the post-holder's base. However, there will be a requirement to work across HMP Morton Hall and provide cross-cover to HMP North Sea Camp and Swinderby Short-Term Holding Facility.

In addition, there is the option to work flexibly, where clinically appropriate, to provide a hybrid approach to patient care, offering both face-to-face and telemedicine appointments, and to undertake management duties and SPA from the prison or home.

Main duties of the job

To provide high quality, trauma informed psychiatric care within integrated mental health teams in prisons. The post holder will deliver assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with severe mental illness, neurodevelopmental conditions and complex comorbidity in custodial settings, ensuring equivalence of care with community services.
