Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join the Trusts directly employed labour force to provide the day-to-day reactive service and planned maintenance works across the Trust estate.

You will be expected to have an NVQ/City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in one or more skills related to the Estates activity, proven skills & knowledge together with a multi-skilled approach to maintenance tasks.

Working Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00 with a 30 Minute unpaid break, this is a 37.5hr per week. Shift times subject to change. you will also be on call one week out of seven.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic maintenance assistants who, having gained significant experience are at the top of their profession but who are also willing to take the hands-on approach on a range of duties.

Well-motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced maintenance assistants who fit the above criteria and who are looking for a rewarding career with a forward-thinking organisation would be ideal for these posts. Applicants should also have good Organisational skills and able to take the lead on specific maintenance and reactive situations. The post is critical in maintaining a safe and appropriate physical environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

Previous NHS experience would be an advantage but not essential. The role is flexible with the ability to work between an office and home base.

The Estates Department provide a comprehensive Estate Management Service to all of the Trust's properties. The purpose of this job is to assist the Estates Department to carry out or oversee the repair, maintenance or installation of plant, equipment and buildings belonging to the Trust.
