Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead on the delivery of nurse-delivered clinics and link with the other healthcare services within the prison. Not only working closely with the primary care leads you will also work closely with external specialist service to ensure that all sexual health needs are met for both our male and female population.
You will be fully supportive of both NHFT Sexual health management strategies and work with these directives to ensure models of service delivery, ways of working and productivity/efficiencies are fully understood and supported by the nursing work force. You will play a fundamental role in developing these strategies by representing the service at designated meetings.
This role is split across 2 sites, the post holder will be required to be able to travel between sites as part of own role. The sites that will be covered are:
- HMP Bedford - is a category B reception and resettlement prison for young adult and adult men.
- Yarl's Wood IRC - is an immigration removal center with a total operational capacity of 474. Yarl's Wood holds a majority of male IRC residents, a small unit for male short term holds and a new unit for up to 58 female IRC residents.
