Job summary

Spinney ward are looking for an individual who can demonstrate leadership behaviours and has a genuine interest and desire to care for older adults with mental health needs such as Anxiety and depression.We require staff that are compassionate and empathetic to the needs of our service users and carers.

As a 24 hour service, the successful candidate will be expected to work shifts including weekends and night duty.

There is a strong emphasis on a multi-disciplinary approach to care, which is highly focused on service user needs; therefore team working and effective communication skills are essential. Staff will be required to engage in the provision of activities to promote well-being.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be highly motivated with a positive person centred approach that is co-produced. Other skills required for the role are to be reliable and have resilience to working in a busy and at times stressful environment. The ability to undertake Low level interventions and Breakaway training is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for all aspects of nursing care of the patient, ensuring that quality care is provided which is evidence based. The successful candidate will undertake the role of Keyworker for an identified group of service users on the ward ensuring that the nursing process underpins care delivery.They will support senior nursing staff in the day-to-day management of the ward and take responsibility for and plan own professional and personal development under the supervision of an identified senior nursing colleague.The post holder will:Develop, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care and be responsible for assessing service user's needs under the supervision of the Charge NurseEnsure that service users' mental state, needs, risks and strengths are comprehensively assessed and that multi-disciplinary care is planned and delivered to a consistently high standard. Assessment must include consideration of Child Protection issues and factors relating to vulnerable adults.Ensure that service users have a Care Programme designed and delivered in line with their assessed needs, risks and strengths.
