Job summary
A new role for a Speciality Doctor in Rehabilitation and Elderly Care.
The four rehabilitation wards within the four hospital sites would be covered by 8 Speciality Doctors. In Addition to the bed based services, there are a range of home-based intermediate care services.
Main duties of the job
o Full Range of Medical Duties at Spinneyfields Specialist care centre, Rushden and reciprocal cover for other sites.
oActively participate in the development and implementation of clinical governance in the Trust supported by the Clinical Governance Support Team/clinical audit programmes.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- oWorking towards MRCP
- oFull GMC Registration
- oMinimum of 1-year SHO or Higher Grade in General Medicine
Desirable
- oAt least 2 years' Experience in General Medicine/Geriatric Medicine
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- oExcellent written and verbal communication skills and evidence of the ability to communicate with patients, colleagues and staff at all levels.
- oAbility to motivate and develop junior Medical Staff and other MDT members
- oAn understanding of the political and financial framework within which the Services operate
Desirable
- oAble to plan and deliver undergraduate teaching and training relevant to this post
- oExperienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation
