NHFT have vacancies for Band 3 Healthcare assistants in our adult inpatient wards based in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

There are 2 Adult wards based at the Welland Centre, St Marys Hospital that have currently have vacancies. Kingfisher is a 10 bedded mixed gender ward and Avocet ward is a 16 bedded male ward. Both of these wards are purpose built for service-users aged 18 to 65 years who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals who have a minimum of 1 years experience in working with adults with mental health difficulties (18 years to 65 years). We require staff that are motivated, compassionate and empathetic to the needs of our service users and carers.

As a 24 hour service, the successful candidate will be expected to work shifts including weekends and night duty.

There is a strong emphasis on a multi-disciplinary approach to care, which is highly focused on service user needs; therefore team working and effective communication skills are essential. Staff will be required to engage in the provision of activities to promote our patients well-being.

The successful candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be highly motivated with a positive person centred approach, as well as being able to motivate others. Other skills required for the role are to be reliable and have resilience to working in a busy and at times stressful environment.

The ability to undertake full Preventing Violence And Aggression training is essential.
