Job summary
The Community Nursing Single Point of Access is a contact centre for Community Nursing Services within NHFT including District Nursing, Intermediate Care and Specialist Palliative Care. The team is an integral service within Community Nursing.
The post holder will be working in an integrated skill mix team of both administrators and clinicians and will work closely with the Community Nursing teams. This is an important, customer focused role involving acting as an interface with patient and their families as well as healthcare professionals and external stakeholders who wish to refer to NHFT Community Nursing Services.
Staff Bank provides temporary admin & clerical staff for different roles throughout Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. Roles available are varied in terms of hours and base and can be short or long term with different lengths of working weeks By applying for this role you are applying to work directly within the Trust SPoA Team. In addition, you will receive the opportunity to take Admin roles across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has become available to join Northamptonshire Foundation NHS Trusts Staff Bank Team working within the Community Nursing Single Point of Access (SPoA).We are a small and friendly teamlooking to grow our team with people that are passionate about delivering excellent customer service. This is a busy, dynamic team, actively looking to recruit hard working bank staff who enjoy a fast paced environment. We need fun-loving and energetic people who are passionate about helping people to access the services they need. The role involves beingthe first point of contact for patients and health professionals who are calling to make contact with our Community Nursing Services; prioritising calls and addressing urgent needs using a clinical software programme whilst working closely with the clinicians.
The SPoA service currently runs 8-6pm, with potential bank shifts to be taken in shift patterns of8am-4pm and 10am-6pm.
You will need to be flexible working over shifts 7 days per week, Monday - Sunday.

The Trust has two Mental Health hospitals in Kettering (St Mary's) and Northampton (Berrywood), three community hospitals in Corby. Wellingborough (Isebrook) and Daventry (Danetre) and a vast array of different services across these areas. Recent roles have included admin and clerical work in prisons, our new single point of access call centre and ward admin at our Berrywood Hospital in Northampton and support to our finance team in Kettering. The availability of work changes on a day to day basis with new opportunities opening up each week.
