Job summary
Purpose of this role
To act as an autonomous advanced practitioner, to work independently and in conjunction with other members of the team. The post holder will be an experienced CAMHS clinical practitioner who can demonstrate highly developed clinical skills and to demonstrate critical thinking whilst working within their professional boundaries. They will work within the clinical team consisting of Multi-disciplinary Team which includes - Clinical Psychologists, Non-Medical Prescriber's, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, Nurses, and therapists to deliver excellent evidence-based care. The ACNP will be able to demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and deliver expert care, including assessment, diagnostic skills, treatment, and evaluation. They will be the daily point of contact for any clinical advice and support for the wider team for day-to-day concerns/clinical risk. The ACNP role will be a key member of the clinical leadership team across Core CAMHS and CAMHS Connect. The post holder will also work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, provide nurse leadership and develop services as required.
The post holder will be a Registered Nurse and be registered with NMC. (and hold a recognised ACP accreditation -Recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent Recognised Prior Learning).

Clinical Practice: The ANP demonstrates knowledge and capabilities in all aspects of health and social care encompassing advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking and clinical management skills that are evidence based and deliver high quality patient centred care. The ANP will demonstrate complex decision-making skills and competences for expanded scope of advanced clinical practice for service users and clinical teams.
Education and personal development: The post holder will have a responsibility to promote clinical excellence in the care of service users presenting to their specialty by providing clinical advice, supervision and support as well as implementing programmes of induction and education for all health care professionals. The ANP should hold registration in Non-Medical Prescribing or demonstrate a willingness to complete this training.
Leadership and Management: The ACNP as a senior member of the team will play a pivotal role in the operational development of their specialty. They will initiate, manage and drive change within the service, innovating changes in practice for the benefit of patient care in line with current trust, local and national programmes. The ACNP will undertake the role in accordance with Trust and Departmental guidelines but have freedom to act within broad policies and protocols, in accordance with professional responsibilities and boundaries.
