NEDS is a very well-established service, which has evolved over the past 30 years and is a pioneer of community-based approaches to treatment and support. We offer evidence-based treatment for the whole spectrum of eating disorders: Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and OSFED. A comprehensive range of services is provided, from outpatient individual and group treatment packages for relatively mild-moderate cases of Bulimia Nervosa and Binge-eating disorder, through to intervention and case management of people with severe Anorexia Nervosa. Clinicians in NEDS work with individuals locally in the community and also co-ordinate referrals to Out of Area inpatient admissions to Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDU's), when needed.

We are developing stronger links with third sector and community organisations and co-production with service users and carers is highly valued and central to our delivery.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Psychologist role within the Eating Disorders service will involve working in a multi-disciplinary team comprising clinical psychologists, psychological practitioners, support workers and administration.

The post holder will support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service; providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.

The postholder will play a key role in supporting new service developments including research and development of materials, service evaluation and related data analysis.
