Sponsorship Places for the Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting annotation or School Nursing annotation)
NHFT would like to invite registered nurses or midwives to apply for Sponsorship Places on the above full-time course. This is an exciting time for Health Visiting and School Nursing within Northamptonshire following the successful implementation of a 0-19 Service Delivery Model.
The Trust is looking for enthusiastic and innovative Nurses or Midwives to join a forward thinking 0-19 service which promotes integrated working, with Partner Agencies and actively works to improve outcomes for Children and Families.
Eligibility:
- Current 1st level Registration on the Nursing and/or Midwifery Register
- To undertake Post Graduate Diploma (MSc level study) - you must have an Undergraduate Honours Degree.
- Valid UK driving license and have access to a car. Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes throughout the course. Where necessary, adjustments will be made in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Main duties of the job
Clinical placements will be across the county, supported by a local Health Visitor or School Nurse. Academic study will be undertaken at the University of Northampton and there will be a balance of theory and practice learning opportunities.
Successful applicants will be employed under an NHFT fixed term contract for the duration of the course (once all necessary employment checks are in place) which will run from September 2024 until September 2025. Successful applicants will be remunerated as per Agenda for Change Band 5 pay scales during the programme of study.
NHFT expects to recruit SCPHN students to permanent posts within Northamptonshire, on the successful completion of the course. Qualified Health Visitors and School Nurses are appointed as Band 6, if successful at interview.
