Job summary
The way that children and young people are being assessed for mental health inpatient admission is being transformed across the East Midlands CAMHS Collaborative. An opportunity has arisen for the development of a new Enhanced Care Referrals Team who will be instrumental in improving the way in which referrals for inpatient admission are appraised and assessed. The team will ensure that all referrals are managed consistently and in a timely manner and that the experiences of children and young people and their carers who require the service are prioritised.
We are looking to recruit 3 experienced, knowledgeable and skilled practitioners, who alongside the manager of the service will deliver the new service. The posts will be offered on either a fixed term 2 year contract or a secondment. You will hold a relevant professional qualification and have experience of managing complex CAMHS cases.
Main duties of the job
The post holders will have the opportunity to make significant improvements in how admission to inpatient care is experienced by young people and those who care for them. As a member of the Enhanced Care Referrals Team, you and your new team members will be instrumental in shaping the service and delivering high quality appraisals of referrals, mental health assessments and risk assessments. You will be working closely with both our inpatient and community colleagues and have responsibility of managing the Single Point of Referral for all GAU and ED referrals for the East Midlands CAMHS Collaborative population of young people who are being considered for inpatient care. We have already seen how the CAMHS Collaborative has positively impacted in ensuring that our young people are being supported within local services, and with the help of our colleagues within intensive home treatment services reducing the dependency on inpatient care, meaning young people are getting supported at home, in a timely manner.
