Job summary
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides the contract to provide integrated health and substance misuse services to the public sector prisons in Cambridgeshire. We are currently looking to recruit an innovative band 6 nurse to work within our existing team.
The primary focus of this post will be to deliver the highest standard of care required to meet the diverse and complex healthcare needs of an adult male population.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly team player who is, passionate about all aspects of Nursing, and who has exceptional clinical skills. The post holder will lead by example, demonstrating consistent exemplary standards of care and professionalism, is innovative and keen to drive nursing forward.
Previous experience of working within the prison estate would be an advantage.
HMP Littlehey is a large Category C prison located near to Grafham Water near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire with free parking, staff restaurant and an onsite gymnasium.
Healthcare services are delivered from two modern well equipped healthcare centres by a multi-disciplinary team who have, in the past, won the prestigious WHO European Best Practice in Prisons Award and NHFT Team of the Year in 2018.

Main duties of the job
- Registered Nurse Adult educated to degree level, or with equivalent experience, with at least 2 years post-registration practice.
- Excellent wide ranging clinical skills. A proven record of higher level clinical decision making ability.
- Evidence of wide ranging post-registration healthcare training.
