Job summary
Exciting opportunity to work within NHFT. has arisen for 2 caring, dedicated, adaptable and self-motivated Qualified Dental Nurses who have excellent personal, communication and clinical skills and works well within a team environment. This is a permanent post working with the Oral surgery team . This post is based at Corby Or Wellingborough , however there would be a requirement to travel county wide across sites within Northamptonshire to fulfil contract obligations, all travel costs will be remunerated if not your current base. Continued Professional Development will be provided to support you in this role and to meet your enhanced GDC/CPD requirements. The duties you could expect to undertake will include clinical chair-side assistance for Oral Surgery, and where qualifications and experience indicate, assistance and opportunities to participate in dental sedation and other work that the Salaried Dental Service is contracted to carry out. You should hold the National Certificate/Diploma, NVQ level 3 or FdSc in Dental Nursing or equivalent and have current registration with the General Dental Council. Ideally you will have post qualification experience, gained in General Dental Practice or other settings. Knowledge of dental software systems is desirable

- To provide assistance and support in a broad range of clinical procedures , Overseeing assigned tasks to facilitate effective patient care whilst maintaining high standards of care and infection prevention and control.
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service that provides specialised dental care on referral to people of all ages, disabilities and special needs which make it impossible for them to access treatment from an NHS general dental practitioner.
- To ensure the best possible dental nursing care and practice is delivered to all patients including those with complex medical conditions, physical disabilities, sensory disabilities, mental ill health, dementia, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum and behaviour which may present a challenge to those caring for them, and may include patients at end of life. this list is not exhaustive
- To work as part of the dental team to provide an efficient and effective dental service
- To practice within the scope of a General Dental Council (GDC) registered dental nurse, and maintain compliance with the GDC professional standards
