Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to cover HMP Littlehey and HMP Whitemoor.

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have an Outstanding rating with the CQC and provide Healthcare within 3 prisons in Cambridgeshire, 3 in Bedfordshire as well as an Immigration removal centre. You will be joining a highly skilled multidisciplinary healthcare team at HMP Littlehey; a Category C prison holding a maximum of 1,146 male prisoners and HMP Whitemoor; HMP Whitemoor, a maximum-security prison holding a maximum of 458 male prisoners.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to become part of our extensive multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will support the provision of a safe and efficient pharmacy service to the prison's complex population. They will be able to provide leadership and will be an excellent team player who works closely with patients, the prisons pharmacy technicians, primary care/ wider health care multi-disciplinary team, prison service and healthcare representatives to ensure a comprehensive medicines management service is provided to prisoners who are serving a custodial sentence. This might include carrying out and supervising checks and audits, running Medicines Use Review clinics according to the needs of the healthcare service.

You must be excellent at communicating and have the ability to problem solve in challenging situations. Secure environment experience is especially desirable, but not essential.

  • ostgraduate Pharmacy Qualification e.g. Clinical Diploma or equivalent experience
