Expert by Experience Lead

Job summary

We are looking for individuals with lived experience of mental health services who want to take their co-production journey to the next stage, by working collaboratively and strategically alongside our senior leaders across NHFT and the MHLDA Collaborative. These positions are open to applications from people who are already working within co-production and who have experience of developing services, demonstrating leadership skills and who are interested in developing evaluation skills.

We are appointing at least 2 whole time equivalent positions at Band 7, with flexible and part time positions available for candidates who want to work with us.

Main duties of the job

These leads will be responsible for leading experts by experience in the strategic developments in MHLDA Collaborative and the operational co production groups in NHFT. They will need to work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Business, Partnerships and Programmes, the Service Manager for Co-Production and the Directorate Management Team to develop the lived experience voice within the MHLDA programme strategy and ensure the coproduction groups in NHFT link into this strategic vision.

To work collaboratively with the Business, Partnerships and Programmes Team, the Service Manager for Coproduction and the Directorate Management Team to develop the lived experience voice within the MHLDA Programme Strategy and ensure the co production groups in NHFT link into this strategic vision.

To lead and develop the cohort of lived experience workers and lived experience volunteers (within MHLDA) which will include people involved in co-production activities across services throughout the Trust. The role will include providing high quality lived-experience specific supervision, Continuing Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) opportunities and in agreed cases line management responsibilities.

To work closely with operational team colleagues to promote, develop and embed the principles of recovery orientated practice across the organisation and to support the development of Lived Experience Practice provision.

The Expert by Experience Lead should act in a way which shows an understanding of our core values and is active in putting them into practice with service users, their friends, family and carers and also other staff members.
