Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to join our outstanding Digital Technology Services Directorate. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join a busy technical team ensuring that Trust users have the systems and platforms to enable the best use of their information technology and adoption and development of emerging technologies to enable the continuation of outstanding services to patients.

The Network & Infrastructure Manager supports the Head of IT in delivering robust, reliable, secure and resilient LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and voice solutions, effective and efficient infrastructure, including servers (physical and virtual) together with cloud and hosted solutions and associated technologies. The successful applicant will be an integral member of a highly technical team with duties that include design, commissioning and support of the Trust's network infrastructure together with management of an established team of skilled technicians. The role also supports other sections of IT Support providing third line support and an escalation route.

Main duties of the job

  • Day to day line management of staff and services
  • Lead in creation of strategic plans and technical roadmaps to maximise efficiencies of network and infrastructure services
  • Ensuring systems and processes to maintain cyber security standards and reduce risks and vulnerabilities are adopted
  • Develop and maintain the Trust's data and voice networks including the wireless network and remote access requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the Trust's telephony and ACD systems.
  • Test and evaluate new IT infrastructure products and services including software and hardware, or changes to current systems that are proposed for use in the Trust.
  • Be involved with specific DTS roll-outs of projects as required
  • Develop and maintain the Trust's data and voice networks including the wireless network and remote access requirements.
  • Work with partners in other organisations to deliver system wide priorities
