Calling all compassionate and dedicated Registered Paediatric Nurses and Registered Adult Nurses with paediatric skills !

Come and join our vibrant Children's unit at Salisbury Hospital and make a meaningful impact on the lives of young patients and their families. Our unit consists of Sarum Ward and a Children's Day Assessment Unit , all designed to create a bright and welcoming environment for children and young people. The ward has 16 in patient beds for children aged 0-17 years, providing specialised care for a range of specialities including general paediatrics , orthopaedics , ENT and general surgery .

This unique opportunity allows you to gain specialist and high dependency skills whilst working in a district hospital setting. Our service provides specialist burns care and together with the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford , we also form part of the Spires cleft service for children who have been born with a cleft lip or palate. In addition we are paediatric oncology shared care unit and link closely with the University Hospital Southampton for children with oncology conditions , ensuring high quality holistic care for our patients.

As part of our welcoming team, you'll have the chance to work together with various departments within the hospital, including the Emergency Department, Day Surgical Unit, and level 2 NICU.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for nurses who are passionate about caring for children and making a positive impact on their lives. As a valued member of our team , you will have the chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment .

You will need to be flexible and adaptable, working both on the ward covering various specialties and in the adjacent day assessment unit . You will be required to work a varied shift pattern that will include nights and weekends, though are recently implemented team based rostering supports staff with a health work life balance.

You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well within our multidisciplinary team .

You will be committed to providing a safe care with a compassionate and caring manner. You will have the ability to work with children and their families assessing, planning implementing and evaluating individualised family centered care.
