Job summary
The Maternity Services are seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic neonatal nurses to join our friendly team caring for mothers and babies in the neonatal unit. The post holder will work under the supervision of the nurse in charge to achieve quality care for mothers and babies. The job will entail working in the local neonatal unit and working with the team delivering transitional care services on the postnatal ward, offering advice and support to mothers and their babies over a range of issues from infant feeding to information about safety in the home. Within the neonatal unit the focus of care will be on those babies requiring special care, high dependency care and intensive care.
The successful applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Registered Nurse or Midwife registration
- With evidence of completion of a nationally recognised Intensive care and High dependency care of the new born qualification e.g. QIS
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
- An understanding of customer care
- Ability to manage their work load on the allocation of the nurse in charge.
- Good team working ability
- Basic computer literacy
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for delivering high standards of care to babies and their families who require Intensive, High dependency, Special and Transitional Care across the service working in collaboration with the wider MDT
