Main duties of the job

Our new colleague will join the existing respiratory consultants in delivering a high quality and patient centred inpatient & outpatient specialist care to our local population of around 270,000 people. We have a well-established fibreoptic bronchoscopy, EBUS and thoracoscopy service with opportunity to develop this further. We provide an ambulatory pleural service including indwelling intra pleural catheter insertion. These services also offer an excellent opportunity to engage in practical training & education for our speciality trainees.

Our robust Lung Cancer service has a weekly multidisciplinary team meeting attended by Medical and Clinical Oncology & Palliative Care teams & virtually by the Thoracic Surgeons. Systemic anti-cancer therapy is delivered on site with timely radiotherapy & surgery provided by colleagues inSouthampton.
