Senior Clinical Fellow Urology - 12 months
This is an exciting opportunity that is ideally suited to a senior fellow level trainee who wants to gain more clinical experience with a chance to develop research and quality improvement skills. This is a replacement post and previous successful applicants have gone onto the specialist register via the CESR route.
Salisbury Urology department includes 7 consultants, 4 middle grade doctors, 3 FY1 doctors and 7 urology specialist nurses. In addition to general urology we also undertake robotic surgery, tertiary female, and reconstructive surgery, HoLEP and complex stone surgery (PCNL). The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Injury Centre is based in Salisbury Hospital and covers the south and southwest of England with an 11 million patient catchment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our neurourology consultants to provide urological assessment and care for these patients.
This post offers dedicated 1:1 teaching in outpatients, video-urodynamics, theatres, and endoscopy. There would be an expectation that the postholder contributes to the urology on-call rota at a middle grade level. The current out of hours on-call commitments are one Saturday 24 hr on call every 5 weeks. Those applicants that already hold their FRCS(Urol) may be able to participate in he consultant on-call rota after a period of probation.
