Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to work within the Salisbury Fertility Centre (SFC) team, to develop, implement, provide and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for the service.

This is a 12 month fixed term role covering maternity leave for 22.5 hours.

The successful candidate will monitor and coordinate the management of safety, risk and governance in accordance with Trust policy and the quality standards led down by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).

The Quality Manager will work autonomously within departmental policies and procedures and in line with the Trust's values and behaviours.

Main duties of the job

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the centre's QMS is in accordance with the requirements of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act, the HFEA Code of Practice and licence conditions.

The role will work with clinical leads on the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidance in line with both local and national requirements (HFEA national licencing authority) within the HFEA 9th Code of Practice (CoP) and any subsequent amendments to the CoP, indirectly determining clinical patient care.

They will be responsible for the design and maintenance of ongoing audit protocol in the department and the delivery and presentation of internal and external audit reports for the service.

  • The post holder must have a recognised BSc Degree as a minimum qualification as well as expertise in Quality Management, ideally gained through working in a UK Licensed Fertility Centre or NHS Trust.
  • Demonstrable skills of problem solving
  • Experience of data analysis and ability to produce clear and concise statistical reports
  • Detailed knowledge of standard IT packages.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver training and data to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent IT skills. Computing / spreadsheet application. Competence in the use of IT programmes e.g. Microsoft Office, electronic patient records, Q-Pulse, i-passport, PRISM, Internet etc.
  • Good management, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, teaching and presentation skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
