Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Driver to join the Pembroke Team at Salisbury District Hospital. The main purpose of this role is to transport the Mobile Cancer Care Unit from Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust to the agreed community locations, and return once service is complete to SFT base. Working in collaboration with the charity Hope for Tomorrow, the MCCU enables NHS trusts across England to treat cancer patients closer to where they live, saving them long, regular, and often disruptive journeys to hospital for their cancer treatment.
The successful applicant will be required to hold LGV Category C and CPC licence. Be able to undertake physical demands of post requiring safe and effective lifting and handling techniques and be able to work unsupervised for periods of time as a mobile worker. As part of the shared role, a flexible and responsive attitude to work patterns will be required, with a openness to cover the annual leave and sickness (where possible) of the other driver(s).
